This was a small, 3-boat evening outing. The loch was clearly fishing well. When I arrived, mid-afternoon, every boat was out and rods were bent. Twelve of us based at Shinness Lodge for a week… A whole week of cold, dry easterlies, with 4 and a half days of sun. However, wind strength was on the whole decent (a write-off for the two on Merkland on Tuesday), and sport was had by all.
A few mayfly coming off, but the fish yet to tune in to them. Hard work with dries in bright sunshine. A few alders provided a bit of sport.
