While on the ferry from Stornoway to Ullapool, a Coastguard helicopter came alongside to conduct a training exercise, putting a man down onto the back of the ferry, and taking him back up again. I had the long lens on at the time, for seabirds, distant shores etc. It was a bit long for the job! I did manage to bring the shutter speed down to slow enough to capture some blur in the rotor blades.
